Dark Ages

We still know very little about London in its Dark Ages. The archeologists found the earliest evidences of human presence at the place of Modern London, referring the 5th century. It was not that London as it is now, but still it was a city, though mostly ruined. It even did not have its name London. This city was named by the Celtic name 'Caer-Lundein'. There were many small wattle and daub houses and at least one bog house, performed in Roman style. It had already then an underground heating system. Inhabitants of this city used Roman coins from previous decades and imported large amphora jars from the Eastern Mediterranean. England traded at that time and many people looked for the place to settle up and organize their bureaus. London became a commercial centre. Mostly thanks to this trade London started developing and growing. There is a suggestion that like other countries in their Dark Ages England used power of slaves. A lot of slaves have been brought to London on the ships and exploited.
In some time Britain was overcrowded by Anglo-Saxons.
